SOLIDS
A solid state of matter retains its own shape, it has a stable and definite shape and volume. Solids can only change their shape by force, for example when they are broken, cut or melted. A solid can become a liquid if it is heated above its melting point. The particles, molecules, or atoms in a solid are closely packed together in a regular pattern and they can not freely move or pass each other; they can only vibrate.
